Harry Clarke and Jacob Brown return to theStoke Citystarting XI this afternoon at Norwich - as Tyrese Campbell and Dujon Sterling miss out on places in the squad.

Campbell is ill and Sterling has returned to Chelsea for treatment on an ankle injury, which is hoped not to be too serious. It gives a chance for Clarke and Brown to come back in what is expected to be something like a 4-3-3. Alex Neil is still without Josh Tymon, Harry Souttar, Gavin Kilkenny and Sam Clucas.

Nick Powell remains on the bench, alongside other attacking options DMargio Wright-Phillips and Liam Delap, while Tom Sparrow is back in the match day squad with no place for Connor Taylor.

Joe Bursik stays in goal behind a back four of Clarke, Morgan Fox, Phil Jagielka and Ben Wilmot. Lewis Baker, Josh Laurent and Will Smallbone are in midfield behind Brown, Tariqe Fosu and Dwight Gayle.

Norwich City have won their last two league matches against Stoke City but have never won three in a row against the Potters.

Stoke have won two of their last seven away league visits to Norwich (D3 L2) and lost 4-1 on their most recent trip in February 2021.

Norwich have lost their last two home Championship matches, last losing more in a row at Carrow Road at this level in February 2006 under Nigel Worthington (three in a row).

Stoke City have lost their last two league games, failing to score in both. The Potters havent lost three in a row since February and March this year.

Stoke manager Alex Neil took charge of 96 league games as Norwich boss between January 2015 and March 2017. Hes only won one of his six league matches against them since leaving (D3 L2) and has already lost once this season against them as Sunderland manager in August.
